Our Story

Te Wero was formally established through the company’s office 6th Feb. 2008

Te Wero’s vision is to create the greatest show on earth through a powerful showcase of Maori performing arts globally - a fusion of traditional and modern storytelling through photographic images and contemporary performance mediums!

Te Wero Performing arts launched their organisation onto the international stage May 19 2010 in Time Square New York with our own performance gallery exhibition “Toa” in conjunction with Chashama – The gallery featured a combination of photographic images handmade quilts and a corporate show. Te Wero "wowed" huge appreciative audiences in the Big Apple. The team performed in Time square daily to spellbound audiences - We literally stopped the traffic – Te Wero personified the terminology guerrilla marketing and created the phrase mob haka long before the phrase was “hip”

Euphoric with the success of New York and armed with a new product Te Wero launched head first into Europe with the opening of a performance gallery exhibition (Pakanga) in Berlin July 19 2011 at a very historic location, Checkpoint Charlie - near the Berlin wall. We had amazing success and performed live at all the hotspots in Berlin –Te Wero performed daily at the famous Brandenburger Tor gate, this location was jammed with tourists who couldn’t get enough of the Te Wero Maori brand. Te Wero Commissioned ten photographic images for Berlin, which further added to our product line. The images were a huge success.

The Maori brand is currently “hot property globally” following on from the success of the rugby world cup. Upon its return to NZ Te Wero was privileged to perform at the “Away game seminar” at Auckland university - hosted by the charismatic Saachi and Saachi worldwide CEO Kevin Roberts who spoke about the need for NZ business to adopt a worldwide focus post rugby world cup - and the "need to" build globally upon that fabulous worldclass event.

As a result of this seminar and a chance conversation with maestro Kevin Roberts Te Wero are delighted to announce that we will open an exhibition at the Saachi and Saachi headquarters in NY in August 2012..

The dream continues................
